Birth doula support

As your birth doula, I offer individualized, non-medical support to you and your partner as you prepare to meet your new baby. I am here to help you sort through your feelings, options, and intentions surrounding the upcoming birth of your child. I will reflect these intentions back to you throughout pregnancy, labor/birth, and the postpartum period; and, I will remain responsive and without judgment as these intentions and preferences may shift and change.

I accompany you in labor to help ensure a safe and satisfying birthing experience. I draw on my knowledge, experience, and passion to provide emotional support, physical comfort, and informational support as needed. I will help ensure that you have the information that you need to make informed decisions as they arise in labor. Your sense of physical and emotional safety is my highest priority. I provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, positioning and other techniques for comfort. Most importantly, I am in it with you until you are through.

Birth Package Includes:

- phone/text/email support and your questions answered throughout your pregnancy

- 3 prenatal meetings where we will get to know each other, create intentions for your birth (birth plan), practice comfort techniques, discuss what you may expect on the day, and prepare for postpartum and newborn care

- on-call 24/7 for your birth from your 38th week of pregnancy onwards - I am accessible by phone, in-town, and ready to “go” when you need me

- in - person support at your birth until baby arrives (virtual services also available as desired)

- postpartum check-in during baby's first week home - we can assess feeding, talk about how you’re doing and the birth if you want, and get you any referrals you may need for other services

 Postpartum doula support

I am certified as both a Postpartum Doula and a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) and am a trained Lactation Educator (LES) and Mother. As such, I have extensive knowledge of caring for newborns as well as caring for the family during the postpartum time. With sensitivity, calm, and infant development in mind, I use a RIE-based respectful approach to caring for babies - ensuring that they feel safe, seen, and nurtured through every stage. With extensive knowledge of breast/chest and bottle feeding, newborn and infant sleep, and respect for bonding and attachment, I provide reassuring company and care as you welcome your new baby into your family. My goal is for you to feel confident and comfortable caring for your baby by the time I leave, as well as be able to focus on your own postpartum recovery and transition. I am vaccinated against Covid-19, seasonal flu, and up to date on TDAP.

I am available for daytime support only during the first 16 weeks with your baby. The packages I offer are listed below and care is responsive to individual needs of each family. Postpartum care may include:
Educational and emotional support for you and your family following the birth and transition to parenthood (or parenting more kids); support with feeding, sleeping, and soothing challenges; resources and referrals to lactation specialists, bodyworkers, childcare and more; babywearing education, care for your baby while you nap, shower, work, or have an outing; light baby-related housekeeping such as baby laundry, washing bottles and pump parts, and tidying and organizing baby’s spaces.
